Reading Rocks!
Summer Reading Club starts July 7.
Head over to your closest area library branch (Williams Lake, Quesnel or One Hundred Mile House) this summer and join the 2010 "Reading Rocks" Summer Reading Club. Registration for the program is free of charge, and open to children aged 3 to 12. Registration has already begun, and continues all summer.

Family Literacy Week "Food for Fines Amnesty" - Jan 26-30
Thank you for all the donations we received during Family Literacy Week! In exchange for non-perishable food items we waived hundreds of dollars worth of overdue library fines and donated several boxes of food to the Salvation Army.

New OHM Library almost ready!
If everything goes as planned (and it has so far), we’ll be seeing another Cariboo Library going from drab to fab! April is the target date for the new OHM Library to open its doors. If the inside is anything like the outside, prepare to be dazzled. Starting Wednesday, March 3, 2010 @ 2:15pm in the Library Program Room. The Red Cedar Program encourages students in Grades 4 - 7 in British Columbia to read Canadian fiction and non-fiction titles. Each year, a Red Cedar Award is presented to one fiction and one non-fiction book which receive the most votes from children in the program. The Club will run until April 21st.Write Better 101
Quesnel Library is offering a series of 4 drop-in workshops hosted by award-winning author, Ed Zaruk. Each one hour slide presentation will be followed by a question and answer discussion with the author. Subjects are:March 6th – Show Don’t Tell
March 13th – How to write dialogue
March 20th – Develop characters with emotion
March 27th – Mistakes I’ve made along the way
Bring along a sample of your writing as Mr. Zaruk will make himself available for any who would like him to review their work.
