The Library offers a few different types of memberships to its patrons. If you are not a resident of the Cariboo Regional District, one of the following membership types may apply.
- Temporary
- Non-Resident
- BC One Card
Temporary Memberships
Temporary Memberships are for patrons who plan to be in the area for 2 – 6 months and are not eligible for a BC One Card (generally they are not residents of B.C.).Apply for a card at any CRDL branch. You will need valid picture I.D. and some proof of your current address -- either ID or cancelled mail, cheques, etc – and your permanent address if it is different from the current one.
Temporary members are limited to 2 items checked out at any one time. A refundable deposit of $25.00 (cash only) is required to register.
All items must be returned and the card surrendered before obtaining your refund.
Non-Residents
Patrons who reside outside the CRD boundaries may acquire a Library Membership at a cost of $25.00 annually.

The same card may be used in all CRDL libraries. Non-Resident members have the same rights and responsibilities as all other Library members.
BC One Card
A library card from your home public library opens the door to public libraries wherever you travel – or stay – in British Columbia.
Don’t leave home without it.

public library in the province. At each library you will also need to provide current ID with proof of your contact information. |

It allows you to check out materials and use services determined by each individual public library. Check with each library for a list of what it provides. Check your library's website to see what you can use at your library. |

WHAT if I need services and materials that a specific public library does not allow me to use? | |

If you want more than the library offers BC OneCard customers, you may obtain full service by paying a non resident fee (at a rate set by each library). |

WHERE do I return materials that I’ve borrowed? | |

Return them to the library you borrowed them from, or to any participating BC OneCard library in the province – including your own library when you get home. |

The library you borrow the materials from will let you know when they are due back. |

WHERE do I pay fines owing on books I borrow? | |

Fines and charges on materials are payable to the library you borrowed them from. Libraries are unable to take payment or charges that accumulate on items borrowed from other libraries. |
